Funfetti
Yesterday I had a french presentation / oral, and it was just me, the teacher, and one of my friends. But you see…french is already hard, writing and anylizing a text is harder, especially if you havent read the book (dude it was in french, and at the time, it was reallly difficult). But one of my friends helped me, and..basically gave me her notes, so I wouldnt be completely lost. I did an introduction, something on the context, and then she gave me ideas on the plan after my question (yeah its complicated), so I did a plan, but didnt answer the question, yeah really stupid, and then didnt finish cause it was really late, and decided not to do it. And then I presented it, and the teacher was like “This has nothing to do with text…it explains the story”. And I was like…hmmm.. I dont really say much, my french teacher talks, doesnt really leave room for me to say things, like… I dont know what to say. Its annoying. So I just say mmmhmmm, so she thinks I understand, which I did. Anyways… that was that.
Tonight im home alone, and me and my host sister are gonna celebrate her birthday just the two of us when she gets back from basketball, cause mommy sent me a box of Funfetti Cake that im gonna make for her. But, im gonna make the cake, and not throw on the icing, were gonna do that part together. : )
Ha. Anthony has a friend of his, who ive met… three times, and one time he had dinner with a bunch of friends of his, and I couldnt go to it, so I sent Anthony a text message saying sorry that I couldnt make it, and to tell hi to his friends for me. So he did, and his friend, Yohann, called my cell phone, and said that was nice and stuff, and he was sorry that I could make it. Yadda yadda, so I put his number in my phone, just in case he happened to call back. (You see, here in France, when you call comeone, it does charge by the minute, but only when the person actually picks up the phone. So, they have like this game, where you call people and let it ring once, and then hang up, and supposedly its like your thinking of the person, and usually they “beep” you back, and it doesnt cost anything. When I saw that Cecile had a lot of missed calls, I was confused, lol) Back to my story, Yohann almost never beeps me, hes not really my friend, hes Anthonys. So he called me about an hour ago, and was like “Hey loren, its Yohann…” I was like oh great, him again, but not because it was HIM, because sometimes I seriously do not like speaking french on a cell phone. It can be very difficult for me, but I succeed, mwhahahahahahaa. Anyways, he was like “Yeah, so what does ‘to the left’ mean”? And I was like…huh? You calling me because you want to me translate something for you? Dang, I must be such a useful tool, it was a little weird. I was like… “a gauche?”… He cut me off and said in that Beyonce song, yeah, and he didnt hear me or something so he passed the phone to his friend, who seeemed more… human, and… thinking straight that his friend. So he asked me the same thing, which he knew the answer, and I was like yep, “a gauche”. But then he wanted to know the meaning of it, and I was like… umm… So I told him that it was beyonce saying that it was easier to find another guy and stuff, not really sure if it was the right answer, but it seemed to be what he was looking for. So, he told me to have a good weekend, and thanks, and then we hung up. A few minutes later I heard the song on the radio, found the real meaning, and sent it in a text message to Yohann. I thought that was the end of it, but he called me back like two minutes later. So I picked the phone and was like “YES?”… Ya know, after he asked me how to translate “intelligence” from french to english, which its the same word, he started talking gibbersh, and it was loud, and he proabably had been drinking. LOL. So that is my french story for the week.
